What The Client Wanted
For this project, our team was approached by Planet Ice to complete a comprehensive ceiling spraying project at their Bristol ice rink. The client was planning to repurpose the space, transforming it from an ice rink into a gallery for art exhibitions. They specifically requested a clean black finish to create the perfect backdrop for their future displays. With plenty of on site spraying experience in similar settings, including our recent project at Eastbrook Studios in Dagenham, we provided expert guidance on paint type and colour for the optimal finish. We advised the client to go for a 10% matte black gloss. This particular finish is highly sought after in gallery and exhibition spaces due to its excellent light-absorbing and non-reflective properties, making it ideal for showcasing artwork and exhibits.
Carrying out the project
The client was operating under a tight timeline for the transformation, so we needed to adapt our approach. Our dedicated team worked extended hours across three days to accommodate the client’s time constraints. This flexibility allowed us to complete the ceiling spraying efficiently while maintaining our exceptional standards.
